The complex method of interpolation, going back to Calder\'on and Coifman et
al., on the one hand, and the Alexander-Wermer-Slodkowski theorem on polynomial
hulls with convex fibers, on the other hand, are generalized to a method of
interpolation of real (finite-dimensional) Banach spaces and of convex
functions. The underlying duality in this method is given by the Legendre
transform. Our results can also be interpreted as new properties of solutions
of the homogeneous complex Monge-Amp\`ere equation.

This paper studies fractional integral operator for vector fields in weighted
$L^1$. Using the estimates on fractional integral operator and Stein-Weiss
inequalities, we can give a new proof for a class of Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg
inequalities and establish new $\divg$-$\curl$ inequalities for vector fields.

A C*-dynamical system is said to have the ideal separation property if every
ideal in the corresponding crossed product arises from an invariant ideal in
the C*-algebra. In this paper we characterize this property for unital
C*-dynamical systems over discrete groups. To every C*-dynamical system we
associate a "twisted" partial C*-dynamical system that encodes much of the
structure of the action. This system can often be "untwisted," for example when
the algebra is commutative, or when the algebra is prime and a certain specific
subgroup has vanishing Mackey obstruction. In this case, we obtain relatively
simple necessary and sufficient conditions for the ideal separation property. A
key idea is a notion of noncommutative boundary for a C*-dynamical system that
generalizes Furstenberg's notion of topological boundary for a group.

Recently representation theory has been used to provide atomic decompositions
for a large collection of classical Banach spaces. In this paper we extend the
techniques to also include projective representations. As our main application
we obtain atomic decompositions of Bergman spaces on the unit ball through the
holomorphic discrete series for the group of isometries of the ball.

We show that several convolution operators on the space of entire functions,
such as the MacLane operator, support a dense hypercyclic algebra that is not
finitely generated. Birkhoff's operator also has this property on the space of
complex-valued smooth functions on the real line.

If matrices almost satisfying a group relation are close to matrices exactly
satisfying the relation, then we say that a group is matricially stable. Here
"almost" and "close" are in terms of the Hilbert-Schmidt norm. Using tracial
2-norm on $II_1$-factors we similarly define $II_1$-factor stability for
groups. Our main result is that all 1-relator groups with non-trivial center
are $II_{1}$-factor stable. Many of them are also matricially stable and RFD.
For amenable groups we give a complete characterization of matricial stability
in terms of the following approximation property for characters: each character
must be a pointwise limit of traces of finite-dimensional representations. This
allows us to prove matricial stability for the discrete Heisenberg group
$\mathbb H_3$ and for all virtually abelian groups. For non-amenable groups the
same approximation property is a necessary condition for being matricially
stable. We study this approximation property and show that RF groups with
character rigidity have it.

The purpose of this short note is to provide a new and very short proof of a
result by Sudakov, offering an important improvement of the classical result by
Kolmogorov-Riesz on compact subsets of Lebesgue spaces.

We use group schemes to construct optimal packings of lines through the
origin. In this setting, optimal line packings are naturally characterized
using representation theory, which in turn leads to a necessary integrality
condition for the existence of equiangular central group frames. We conclude
with an infinite family of optimal line packings using the group schemes
associated with certain Suzuki 2-groups, specifically, extensions of Heisenberg
groups. Notably, this is the first known infinite family of equiangular tight
frames generated by representations of nonabelian groups.

The aim of this paper is to give a characterization of path connected
topological fields, inspired by the classical Gelfand correspondence between a
compact Hausdorff topological space $X$ and the space of maximal ideals of the
ring of real valued continuous functions $C(X,\mathbb{R})$. More explicitly,
our motivation is the following question: What is the essential property of the
topological field $F=\mathbb{R}$ that makes such a correspondence valid for all
compact Hausdorff spaces? It turns out that such a perfect correspondence
exists if and only if $F$ is a path connected topological field.

We introduce the concept of topological radical of a Banach module. This
closed submodule have two description: the as the intersection of ranges of
maximal contractive monomorphism (from outside) and as the union of ranges of
small morphisms (from inside). This concept is a functional analytic analogue
for radical of module over a unital ring and has the similar categorical
properties.

This paper is concerned with the algebraic dual D*(\Omega) of the space of
test functions D(\Omega). The emphasis is on failures and successes of
D*(\Omega) as compared to the continuous dual D'(\Omega), the space of
distributions. Topological properties, operations with elements of D*(\Omega)
and applications to linear partial differential equations are discussed.

The theory of quasifree quantum stochastic calculus for infinite-dimensional
noise is developed within the framework of Hudson-Parthasarathy quantum
stochastic calculus. The question of uniqueness for the covariance amplitude
with respect to which a given unitary quantum stochastic cocycle is quasifree
is addressed, and related to the minimality of the corresponding stochastic
dilation. The theory is applied to the identification of a wide class of
quantum random walks whose limit processes are driven by quasifree noises.

This article studies sufficient conditions on families of approximating
kernels which provide $N$--term approximation errors from an associated
nonlinear approximation space which match the best known orders of $N$--term
wavelet expansion. These conditions provide a framework which encompasses some
notable approximation kernels including splines, so-called cardinal functions,
and many radial basis functions such as the Gaussians and general
multiquadrics. Examples of such kernels are given to justify the criteria, and
some computational experiments are done to demonstrate the theoretical results.
Additionally, the techniques involved allow for some new results on $N$--term
interpolation of Sobolev functions via radial basis functions.

We elaborate a new method for constructing traces of quadratic forms in the
framework of Hilbert and Dirichlet spaces. Our method relies on monotone
convergence of quadratic forms and the canonical decomposition into regular and
singular part. We give various situations where the trace can be described more
explicitly and compute it for some illustrating examples. We then show that
Mosco convergence of Dirichlet forms implies Mosco convergence of a subsequence
of their approximating traces and that asymptotic compactness of Dirichlet
forms yields asymptotic compactness of their traces.

We continue our study of the outer Pinsker factor for probability
measure-preserving actions of sofic groups. Using the notion of doubly quenched
convergence developed by Austin, we prove that in many cases the outer Pinsker
factor of a product action is the product of the outer Pinsker factors. Our
results are parallel to those of Seward for Rohklin entropy. We use these
Pinsker products formulas to show that for many actions of a sofic group G on X
where X is a compact group and the action is by automorphism, the (measurable)
outer Pinsker factor of the action of G on X is given as a quotient by a
G-invariant, closed, normal subgroup. We use our results to show that if G is
sofic and f in M_{n}(Z(G)) is invertible as a convolution operator, then the
action of G on the Pontryagin dual of \Z(G)^{\oplus n}/\Z(G)^{\oplus n}f has
completely positive measure-theoretic entropy with respect to the Haar measure.
This last application requires our previous work connecting topological entropy
in the presence as defined by Li-Liang to measure-theoretic entropy in the
presence (implicitly defined by Kerr) for actions on compact groups. In
particular, we need our previous formulation of measure-theoretic entropy in
the presence in terms of a given topological model.

Sufficient conditions for a semigroup measure algebra to have contractible
Gelfand spectrum are given and it is shown that for a wide class of semigroups
these conditions are also necessary.

We establish a direct connection between two fundamental topics: one in
probability theory and one in quantum field theory. The first topic is the
problem of pointwise multiplication of random Schwartz distributions which has
been the object of recent progress thanks to Hairer's theory of regularity
structures and the theory of paracontrolled distributions introduced by
Gubinelli, Imkeller and Perkowski. The second topic is Wilson's operator
product expansion which is a general property of models of quantum field theory
and a cornerstone of the bootstrap approach to conformal field theory. Our main
result is a general theorem for the almost sure construction of products of
random distributions by mollification and suitable additive as well as
multiplicative renormalizations. The hypothesis for this theorem is the
operator product expansion with precise bounds for pointwise correlations. We
conjecture these bounds to be universal features of quantum field theories with
gapped dimension spectrum. Our theorem can accommodate logarithmic corrections,
anomalous scaling dimensions and even lack of translation invariance. However,
it only applies to fields with short distance singularities that are milder
than white noise. As an application, we provide a detailed treatment of a
scalar conformal field theory of mean field type, i.e., the fractional massless
free field also known as the fractional Gaussian field.

Suppose $X$ is a vector lattice and there is a notion of convergence
$x_{\alpha} \rightarrow x$ in $X$. Then we can speak of an "unbounded" version
of this convergence by saying that $(x_{\alpha})$ unbounded converges to $x\in
X$ if $\lvert x_\alpha-x\rvert \wedge u\rightarrow 0$ for every $u \in X_+$. In
the literature, the unbounded versions of the norm, order and absolute weak
convergence have been studied. Here we create a general theory of unbounded
convergence but with a focus on uo-convergence and those convergences deriving
from locally solid topologies.

We characterize Gelfand-Shilov spaces, their distribution spaces and
modulation spaces in terms of estimates of their Zak transforms. We use these
result for general investigations of quasi-periodic functions and
distributions. We also establish necessary and sufficient conditions for linear
operators in order for these operators should be conjugations by the Zak
transform.

In this paper, using the concept of unbounded absolute weak convergence
($uaw$-convergence, for short) in a Banach lattice, we define two classes of
continuous operators, named $uaw$-Dunford-Pettis and $uaw$-compact operators.
We investigate some properties and relations between them. In particular, we
consider some hypotheses on domain or range spaces of operators such that the
adjoint or the modulus of a $uaw$-Dunford-Pettis or $uaw$-compact operator
inherits a similar property. In addition, we look into some connections between
compact operators, weakly compact operators, and Dunford-Pettis ones with
$uaw$-versions of these operators. Moreover, we examine some relations between
$uaw$-Dunford-Pettis operators, $M$-weakly compact operators, $L$-weakly
compact operators, and $o$-weakly compact ones. As a significant outcome, we
show that the square of any positive $uaw$-Dunford-Pettis ($M$-weakly compact)
operator on an order continuous Banach lattice is compact. Many examples are
given to illustrate the essential conditions, as well.

We prove that all the zeros of a certain family of meromorphic functions are
on the critical line $\text{Re}(s)=1/2$, and are simple (except possibly when
$s=1/2$). We prove this by relating the zeros to the discrete spectrum of
unbounded self-adjoint operators. For example, for $h(s)$ a meromorphic
function with no zeros in $\text{Re}(s)>1/2$, real-valued on $\R$, and
$\frac{h(1-s)}{h(s)}\ll |s|^{1-\epsilon}$ in $\text{Re}(s)>1/2$, the only zeros
of $h(s)\pm h(1-s)$ are on the critical line. More generally, we can allow
certain patterns of finitely-many zeros and poles in the right half-plane. One
instance of such a function $h$ is $h(s)=\xi_k(2s)$, the completed
zeta-function of a number field $k$, or, more generally, many self-dual
automorphic $L$-functions. We use spectral theory suggested by results of
Lax-Phillips and ColinDeVerdi\`{e}re. This simplifies ideas of W. M\"{u}ller,

We study Tao's finitary viewpoint of convergence in metric spaces, as
captured by the notion of metastability. We adopt the perspective of continuous
model theory. We show that, in essence, metastable convergence with a given
rate is the only formulation of metric convergence that can be captured by a
theory in continuous first-order logic, a result we call the Uniform
Metastability Principle. Philosophically, this principle amounts to the
following meta-theorem: "If a classical statement about convergence in metric
structures is refined to a statement about metastable convergence with some
rate, then the validity of the original statement implies the validity of its
metastable version." As an instance of this phenomenon, we formulate an
abstract version of Tao's Metastable Dominated Convergence Theorem as a
statement about axiomatizable classes of metric structures, and show that it is
a direct consequence of the Uniform Metastability Principle.

We prove that the negative infinitesimal generator $L$ of a semigroup of
positive contractions on $L^\infty$ has a bounded $H^\infty(S_\eta^0)$-calculus
on the associated Poisson semigroup-BMO space for any angle $\eta>\pi/2$,
provided the semigroup satisfies Bakry-Emry's $\Gamma_2 $ criterion. Our
arguments only rely on the properties of the underlying semigroup and works
well in the noncommutative setting. A key ingredient of our argument is a quasi
monotone property for the subordinated semigroup
$T_{t,\alpha}=e^{-tL^\alpha},0<\alpha<1$, that is proved in the first half of
the article.

Given an ideal $\mathcal{I}$ on $\omega$, we prove that a sequence in a
topological space $X$ is $\mathcal{I}$-convergent if and only if there exists a
``big'' $\mathcal{I}$-convergent subsequence. Then, we study several properties
and show two characterizations of the set of $\mathcal{I}$-cluster points as
classical cluster points of a filters on $X$ and as the smallest closed set
containing ``almost all'' the sequence. As a consequence, we obtain that the
underlying topology $\tau$ coincides with the topology generated by the pair
$(\tau,\mathcal{I})$.

Configurations of subspaces like equichordal and equiisoclinic tight fusion
frames, which are in some sense optimally spread apart and which also have
reconstruction properties emulating those of orthonormal bases, are useful in
various applications, such as wireless communications and quantum information
theory. In this paper, a new construction of infinite classes of equichordal
tight fusion frames built on semiregular divisible difference sets is
presented. Sometimes this construction yields an equiisoclinic packing. Each of
the constructed fusion frames is shown to have both a flat representation and a
sparse representation. Furthermore, integrality conditions which characterize
when equichordal and equiisoclinic fusion frames can have orthonormal bases
with entries in a subring of the algebraic integers are proven. Keywords:
